Ministries

God never intended for you to “go it alone.”

He has invited you to be a part of His family, and we hope that you have accepted that invitation. If you haven’t done so yet, then asks us about it. You will be glad you did!

As a family we do things for each other and with each other. Happiness from the heart and fulfilment in life is best found in a place of mutual care and respect.

We have not yet “arrived,” but together we are working towards that goal.

Scroll down through the sections below that describe the ministries of our church. You will find that there is a place for you!

Church Services

Sunday mornings at 10.00 AM we have our regular worship services.

The service has a informal style with a variety of contemporary choruses and classic hymns. A worship team including a contemporary band with a moderate sound leads the worship.

Preaching of the Word of God is the highlight of the service. You can expect the Bible to be unfolded before you, made understandable and practical.

Childrens Ministry

Kids 4 Jesus (“K4J”)

Everyone is together for the main part of the music/worship portion, then the children up to year 4 are dismissed for the remainder of the time. Along with a creche, a special Children’s Church program is provided for them in the fellowship hall downstairs during that time. It’s an exciting time with singing, stories, relevant Bible teaching and purposeful games.

Children’s Safety

The safety of your children is of utmost importance. We have a very detailed and carefully thought out Child Protection Policy. Click here to see it for yourself. All of our children’s workers must have a NSW ‘Working with Children’ check conducted, have a registration number and abide by our safety policies.

Life Groups

On a fortnightly basis small groups meet in homes.

It’s an informal time of fellowship, Bible study and prayer.

Everyone is welcome, including those who simply would like to know more about what Christianity is all about.

In recent times, we have had a number of informal groups spring up, doing “SOAP” journaling.  It’s a method of Bible study that gets everyone involved.

Ladies Ministries

The ladies meet at the church on a fortightly basis on Friday mornings, and have a Bible study fortnightly via Zoom on Wednesday evenings.  See the church calendar for specific dates. As with our other ministries, the ladies love to study the Bible and gain practical that will help them in their daily living.

From time to time the ladies organise special events, and each year they participate in a Ladies Retreat, along with ladies from other churches.

Mens’ Group

Westlakes men meet on a regular basis in a variety of places and situations.

On an informal basis it’s common for men from the church to get together for golf, fishing and other activities.

Young Adults

Young adults are not the future of Westlakes, they are a vital part of the present. Our young adults are involved in ministry, but they also love to get together to learn, grow and enjoy each other’s company.

Transformed Youth

Our youth ministry is in a time of transition. In the past we have had teen ministry meetings on Friday nights. We are praying to the Lord of the harvest to send labourers into that harvest, and that especially involves ministry to teens. It’s such a vital time of life, and our young people have great potential.

Special Events

From time to time we organise a special event such as a night of worship, a music ‘jam session’ or our Family Camp.
