Welcome to Westlakes Baptist Church – not so much to a building, but to a family. After all, isn’t that what a home is all about? Not perfect people, but forgiven ones with a love for God and for each other. Come along and discover what it’s like to be loved and pass that on to others around you.
About
Baptist churches are distinct as a group.
Each one of them is also distinct from the others.
As a local church we are free to take our understanding of the Scriptures and mold our ministry into that pattern. We have sought to do that, not to simply mimic other churches around us.
Our vision
To be a God glorifying Church where we love Him and others.
Our mission
To go and make disciples who go on to become disciple makers. Matt. 28:18-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:46-48. Acts 1:8
How do we do this?
By bringing people to Christ, building them up in Christ and sending them out for Christ as disciple makers. Mark 3:13-14

Ministries
God never intended for you to “go it alone.”
He has invited you to be a part of His family, and we hope that you have accepted that invitation. If you haven’t done so yet, then asks us about it. You will be glad you did!
As a family we do things for each other and with each other. Happiness from the heart and fulfilment in life is best found in a place of mutual care and respect.
We have not yet “arrived,” but together we are working towards that goal.
Scroll down through the sections below that describe the ministries of our church. You will find that there is a place for you!
Sunday Church Service
Our family friendly church service begins with: Prayer 9:00am, Coffee Meet & Greet 9:30am, Worship Service 10:00am.
The service has a informal style with a variety of contemporary choruses and classic hymns. A worship team including a contemporary band with a moderate sound leads the worship.
Preaching of the Word of God is the highlight of the service. You can expect the Bible to be unfolded before you, made understandable and practical.
Children & Teen’s Ministry
Along with a creche, Kid’s 4 Jesus Sunday School, a Children’s Church program is provided for them in the fellowship hall downstairs during the service. We also have a special kid’s program for children school years 1 and above who meet on Friday’s from 5pm-7pm which is our community outreach. It’s an exciting time with singing, stories, relevant Bible teaching and purposeful games. We adhere to the Child Protection Policy.
Children’s Safety
The safety of your children is of utmost importance. We have a very detailed and carefully thought-out Child Protection Policy. Click here to see it for yourself. All of our children’s workers must have an NSW ‘Working with Children’ check conducted, have a registration number and abide by our safety policies.
Discipleship Groups
We meet once a month to grow together with other Godly men and women in the scriptures and develop meaningful personal discipling relationships.
Everyone is welcome, including those who simply would like to know more about what Christianity is all about.
Ladies Ministries
Westlakes women meet for the ladies Bible study and S.O.A.P. fortnightly in homes. A few of the mum’s also meet together for encouragement, support and fellowship. From time to time the ladies organize special events for outreach and growth. The ladies love to study the Bible and gain practical insight that will help them in their daily living.
Men’s Group
Westlakes men meet on Tuesday nights for prayer, study God’s Word and disciple each other. On an informal basis it’s common for men from the church to get together for soccer, fishing and other activities.
Young Adults
Young adults are not the future of Westlakes, they are a vital part of the present. Our young adults are involved in ministry, but they also love to get together to learn, grow and enjoy each other’s company.
Transformed Youth
Our youth ministry is in a time of transition. In the past we have had teen ministry meetings on Friday nights. We are praying to the Lord of the harvest to send labourers into that harvest, and that especially involves ministry to teens. It’s such a vital time of life, and our young people have great potential.
Special Events
From time to time we organise a special event such as a night of worship, a music ‘jam session’ or our Family Camp.

Is Christ’s sacrifice enough?
You speak of how Jesus’ death on the cross covers our sin. The exchange doesn’t work for me though… he died and was excommunicated from God for 3 days and can then save all those who all on Him? It seems a bit unjust to me! 3 days of death for an eternity with his …
Why do I need forgiveness or salvation?
I ultimately still don’t see the need for forgiveness by Jesus for my actions beyond asking God for forgiveness of which I do. Answer: It’s probably more a more a matter of repentance, rather than asking forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 is about a Christian maintaining a right relationship with God. It’s the sort of thing …
Shouldn’t the Christian life be hard?
So previously we have spoken about grace and about the law. This being something I greatly struggle with. I tend to believe that God will hold us more accountable for our actions than what I feel the majority of Christians would as they rely heavily on grace. From what I get from the bible, God …
